About
Team ATTAC epilepsy
You can be a victim of epilepsy, or you can ATTAC it.
This is a novel concept using bike racing and bicycle charity events to raise money for research and to empower those suffering from epilepsy to get on their bikes, generate some funding through pledges or crowdfunding, and be part of the solution; to give them back their DIGNITY and a sense of control over this terrible, inescapable condition.

Epilepsy Sucks.
It's a terrible, debilitating condition that negatively impacts the lives of millions of people. What do we need to improve the lives of people suffering from epilepsy, and maybe even find a cure? MONEY. It's that simple. There is a $87 million funding gap in the field of epilepsy research.
We don't need more drugs to manage symptoms, many of which are dubious at best and often cause their own nasty side effects. We need cures: gene therapies, novel surgeries, holistic patient management, definitive medications, and other treatments that actually cure epilepsy, not just manage it. So, we need your financial support.
How is Team ATTAC different?
We're not exposed to random and egregious funding cuts
Nonprofits, by design, generate much of their support from private and government grants and donations and are limited in how they can raise money and what they can do with that money. They are also blatantly exposed to the whims of grantor or donor government, who can arbitrarily decide to pull those resources in the middle of the funding cycle.
Team ATTAC can generate money any damn way we think of, and put the highest percentage of that revenue possible, short of operating expenses, directly toward research without exposure to such capricious and malignant decisions.
We can beg, borrow, grovel, and cajole from private or commercial entities for direct support or sponsorships
Team ATTAC can accept sponsorship, merchandise, or direct financial support from virtually any type of business without concern regarding IRS ramifications, stringent limitations, and diligent reporting to maintain nonprofit status.
Team ATTAC is a privateer organization looking for whatever funding sources we can find. Not only do we need money, we also need gear: bikes, bike kit, sports nutrition, and anything else necessary to participate in epic cycling events. We need to pay for entry fees, travel, hotel rooms, food, and miscellaneous expenses for our TEAM to be successful at these events. Are you a potential sponsor? Please click here:
We can also sell cool swag, team branded bike kit, and our own branded coffee (which is a cycling necessity)
Will this model work?
Of course, that's an unknowable question, but we have to try. It is counterproductive to compete with nonprofits that are already out there doing the best they can with the funding they can generate. Nor do we want to leave money on the table, so we'll do the best we can to ensure that this novel approach is as successful as possible.

About Team ATTAC
Team ATTAC is on a mission to drive epilepsy research forward and improve the quality of life for individuals living with epilepsy. Our focus is on funding CUREepilepsy.org which supports innovative research, advocating for epilepsy awareness, and supporting individuals and families affected by epilepsy.
Upcoming Projects
Our biggest outreach event this year is the Haute Route Alps bike race event from August 24-30. It is an 800km event with 18,800M of elevation gain through the French and Italian Alps.
Haute Route France has been extremely generous in helping to bring awareness to epilepsy through their magazine.
